Imam Ali (peace be upon him):
Do not be obstinate, for such a person will perish
لا تَسْتَبِدَّ بِرَأْيِكَ فَمَنِ اسْتَبَدَّ بِرَأْيِهِ هَلَكَ.

Imam Hadi (as) says:
الْعُجْبُ صَارِفٌ عَنْ طَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ، دَاعٍ إلیَ الْغَمْطِ وَ الْجَهْلِ.
Arrogance is an obstacle of obtaining knowledge and diverts man towards ignorance and humiliation.
